REVIEW: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow (Bad to the Bronze / On and On Bronze)

This is arguably the most popular cream eyeshadow of the moment, or at least, within the last year.

I avoided these for the longest time, mostly because of the hype.  When I did finally bite the bullet, Tough As Taupe only satisfied, not overwhelm.
However, seeing how I'm in love with limited edition shade, Barely Beige (my review), I decided to give this one a shot.

Please note that these cream eyeshadows have different names in Europe.  The North American name is Bad to the Bronze.  Its European name is On and On Bronze.

Drugstore Haul (Shoppers Drug Mart)

Shoppers Drug Mart (Canada) is currently running a beauty event, where you gain 20 times the points when you purchase $75 or more on cosmetics and fragrances.  All La Roche-Posay products are also 20 times the points.

I took advantage and did some damage.  I spent $85 and got 17000 points, which is equivalent to $20!

Maybelline EyeStudio 100 Cozy Cashmere

This palette is so gorgeous... I'm sure I'll be using it lots as the season goes on.

The highlight is basically a powder version of the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr in 100 Barely Beige (review here).  The dark brown with glitter particles has quite a bit of glitter fallout but it's so pretty that I'm willing to work with it.

The texture is quite smooth with an ever-so-slight velvet feeling (obviously, not UD quality though).  The dark brown with glitter is slightly drier than the others.

This palette is limited edition and retails for $7.99 CAD.  I bought it for $5 with an in-store Maybelline coupon.

REVIEW: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow (100 Barely Beige)

I highly recommend this, if you're looking for a quick no-fuss all-over colour.  If you use MAC paint pots, you should definitely keep reading (not that I've never used any--I've never swatched any, but I've seen plenty of videos and swatches of them! lol).  These colour tattoo eyeshadows have been compared to paint pots on several occasions and are said to be incredible dupes!

Supposedly, Barely Beige is a dupe for MAC Bare Study.

It is also a dupe for Stila Smudge Pot in Kitten.  Looking at online swatches, I think this is a better version of Stila (see Lips So Facto's post on Kitten).
in natural light
I just apply it all over my eye lids with my ring finger, and it's great at brightening my eyes up.
If I wear it on its own, it wears well without creasing.  Because it's a cream eye shadow, I don't need to apply any eye shadow primer.
I've also worn it as a first layer underneath other eye shadows.  If I'm putting more shadows on top, I'll wear an eye shadow primer underneath.
It's a great inner tear duct highlighter too.

I love that it has a nice icy highlight sheen, but isn't overly shiny or shimmery.  It's subtle and doesn't make it look like you have icing on your eyes.

It sells for $7.99 CAD at Superstore.  If you can, wait for a Maybelline promotion, but it is a limited edition colour.

Some other random shiz that M bought in March

Holy shit, I bought a lot of stuff in March -- So much for being broke!

It seems like it works the same way as my Burt's Bees, but the Burt's Bees is all natural.
The two's price points are the same, too.
So, I'm gonna call Burt's Bees the winner of the dupe challenge.
Still trying it out.  It seems aite?
AMAZING.  Very little is needed for pigment.
I would never wear makeup for 24 hours, but the shit stays on as long as I need it to, without primer!
It's a gorgeous matte mushroom taupey grey.
I got it at London Drugs when they had their 30% off all Maybelline products deal, so it was only $6.29 CAD!
I bought this because R raves about the thing.
My skin doesn't soak it up nearly as crazy as hers thought.
I use it for my hair tips, and it's awesome possum.
It's good for random dry patches too.
I wish I had this with me when I was in Calgary!
I can't wait to try this out tomorrow, because all of my in-store and home swatches have been incredible.
My beautyblender and it will be making love all over my face tomorrow!
It's oil-free!!!  The watery consistency could become my new HG over my Almay clear complexion!
I bought this in Shopper's Drug Mart for $26 CAD (holy mark up!).

Oh, an update from my last post about the Sephora VIB haul:
I returned the TARTE emphaseyes brightener, and got the MUFE aqua eyes eyeliner (champagne 23L).
The TARTE one was smooth on my hand, but on my waterline, it was so chalky and inconsistent.
This MUFE one is amazing, but less beige-ness and more pinkness.
I swatched it with my Bourjois above.

Aaaaannnd the biggest purchase of March:

It's APRIL already?!
